Air Algérie to resume weekly flights to Tripoli after ground‑handling deal

Air Algérie announced that it has signed a ground‑handling contract with Libyan Ground Handling Services on 19 October 2026, covering operations at Tripoli International Airport (Mitiga).

The agreement will see Air Algérie resume flights between Algiers and Tripoli from 28 October 2026, operating weekly on Wednesdays and Fridays. This move is part of the carrier’s strategy to strengthen its Maghreb links and support Libya’s civil aviation sector.

Libyan Ground Handling Services welcomed the deal, stating, "We have signed an agreement for ground‑handling services with Air Algérie." The Libyan company hopes to expand its international network through the partnership.

Air Algérie has recently re‑launched routes to N’Djamena, Libreville, Luanda, Manchester, Berlin and Doha, signalling a broader push to re‑establish its presence across Africa and Europe.
