Algeria has launched a sweeping roadworks programme covering eight wilayas, with Minister Abdelkader Djellaoui overseeing widening, rehabilitation, double‑tracking of highways and airport upgrades.

The first contract under the scheme sees the RN 16 double‑track concrete surfacing start in Souk Ahras, where the RN 16M segment from kilometre 4+500 to 8+900 is being reinforced and treated.

In Skikda, work on the RN 85 double‑track between Ain Bouziane and Sidi Mezghiche is progressing along a 14.4 km stretch, while Guelma sees the RN 20 lot 06 asphalt and concrete median installation continue.

Batna is advancing the RN 88 to RN 03 link over 56 km and rehabilitating a 13.5 km section of RN 03, and El M’Ghair has launched a 20 km double‑track on RN 03 between Tendla and Sidi Amrane via Djamaa.

Béjaïa is modernising the RN 09 tunnels at Kherrata T2/T3 to improve safety, and Oran is constructing a 12 km double‑track on RN 108 to connect the east‑west motorway with Aïn Témouchent.

In Bouira, the secondary network CW 93 (Lakhdaria–Maala–Zbarbar) is being asphalled over 20 km, and Ghardaïa has completed airport runway maintenance to ensure safe air links.
