Interior Ministry Budget for 2027

Algeria announced on Saturday that it will propose DZD 1.557 billion in budget credits for the Ministry of Interior for the 2027 fiscal year.

Minister of Interior and Local Communities Ibrahim Merad presented the plan to the Finance and Budget Committee of the People’s National Assembly, detailing a DZD 675.6 billion allocation to support local communities and municipal projects – a 2.39% rise on 2026. He said, "The proposed credits for the local community support program total DZD 675.6 billion, a 2.39% increase over 2026".

The proposal earmarks DZD 623.3 billion for national security, primarily police spending, and DZD 118.6 billion for civil protection. Transfer expenses would account for DZD 710.7 billion, while user expenses are set at DZD 674.9 billion.

Investment in urgent municipal projects such as water, sanitation, electricity, gas, road maintenance, schools, sports and health facilities is allocated DZD 150 billion. Local authorities will receive DZD 524 billion, including DZD 180 billion for staff salary increases and DZD 158 billion for vocational integration contracts.

Administration costs are budgeted at DZD 92.7 billion and further investment at DZD 84.2 billion. The detailed split aims to strengthen local governance and public services while maintaining security and civil protection priorities.
