Algeria's Minister of Hydrocarbons Mohamed Arkab will travel to Moscow on Monday, 26 October 2026, to take part in the 28th Gas Exporting Countries Forum (GECF) ministerial meeting.
The gathering, presided over by Nigeria's Minister of Petroleum Resources Ekperikpe Ekpo, will bring together representatives from the GECF's 20 member states, which together hold 70% of proven global natural gas reserves and nearly half of global LNG exports.
Delegates will examine global gas market trends, supply security, market stability, energy security and the imperatives of the climate transition, while presenting the 2026 annual gas market report and the 10th edition of the Global Gas Outlook 2055.
The forum also aims to deepen dialogue and strengthen cooperation among members, monitoring the implementation of the 2024 Algiers Declaration that set out joint objectives for the sector.
Founded in 2001 and becoming an intergovernmental organization in 2008, the GECF is headquartered in Doha, Qatar, and accounts for 38% of global marketed gas production, 42% of gas exports and 47% of LNG exports.
