Algerian presidential envoy Sifi Ghrieb landed in Moscow on Monday evening to represent President Abdelmadjid Tebboune at two major gatherings.
Ghrieb will attend the eighth Gas Exporting Countries Forum (GECF) Summit on 27 October, followed by the third Russia‑Africa Summit on 28 and 29 October. Accompanying him are Foreign Minister Ahmed Attaf and Hydrocarbons Minister Mohamed Arkab, underscoring the importance of energy and diplomatic ties.
The GECF meeting will bring together leading gas exporters to discuss market stability, pricing mechanisms and future investments. Meanwhile, the Russia‑Africa Summit aims to deepen cooperation across sectors such as energy, infrastructure and trade between Moscow and African nations.
Algeria’s participation signals its intent to strengthen ties with Russia, a key partner in its hydrocarbon sector, and to seek new opportunities for Algerian businesses at the regional level.
