The 2026 Ballon d’Or ceremony will take place on Monday, 26 October, at the London Palladium in London. This marks the first time the prestigious award has been presented outside France since 1956. The event will be hosted by former football star Thierry Henry and journalist Kate Scott, setting the stage for a historic evening of football recognition.

Among the male nominees, three players are favourites: Harry Kane of Bayern Munich and England, Lamine Yamal of FC Barcelona and Spain, and Kylian Mbappé of Real Madrid and France. Ousmane Dembélé, the 2025 winner, will be present to defend his title. In the women's category, Alexia Putellas of FC Barcelona emerged as the favourite, aiming for a third victory. Notably, Aitana Bonmatí will be absent from the event due to injury.

Real Madrid will make a return to the ceremony after boycotting the 2024 edition. The night will also feature the introduction of a new award, the Ballon d’Or du meilleur joueur de tous les temps.
