Guedioura Seeks Director Sportif Role Over Coaching

Veteran Algerian footballer Adlène Guedioura has clarified his career direction, stating that he prefers a director sportif or club presidency over returning to the coaching dugout. The 40-year-old, who retired in 2024 following his final spell at CR Belouizdad, made these remarks during an interview on Oryx FM on 20 October 2026.

Since leaving professional football, Guedioura has resided in Qatar, where he served as an assistant coach at Al Arabi during the 2024-2025 season and subsequently worked as a youth coach at Al Wakrah. His time abroad has kept him connected to the game, though his focus has shifted towards administrative leadership rather than tactical instruction.

The former international has previously been linked to senior roles in Algeria, notably being announced twice for director sportif positions at CR Belouizdad and Mouloudia d'Alger. However, those appointments did not materialise, leaving Guedioura available for new opportunities within the Kingdom's football landscape.

Despite his preference for executive duties, Guedioura remains open to serving the national team. He indicated his willingness to join the staff under either Madjid Hemdani or Rabah Yahia if required, offering his experience to support the senior side's ongoing development.
