Algeria will experience internet service disruptions from 20:00 on Monday 26 October until 04:00 on Tuesday 27 October, the Ministry of Post and Telecommunications said.

The outages are caused by maintenance on the submarine cable that links Algeria with Spain, a problem the ministry says is beyond its control. Algérie Telecom has been mobilized to monitor the works and to mitigate the impact on users.

The ministry warned that the disruption will affect broadband and mobile data services across the country. It added that service is expected to resume gradually after 04:00 on 27 October.

"Maintenance on the submarine cable linking Algeria and Spain will cause significant internet disruptions," a ministry spokesperson said. Users are advised to plan accordingly until the network is restored.
