A four‑nation security meeting wrapped up on Monday evening in Tehran, focusing on regional stability, the fallout of military aggression and aid for Palestine and Lebanon.
The gathering brought together senior officials from Iran, Saudi Arabia, Pakistan and Turkey, including Saudi Crown Prince Khalid ben Salmane, Pakistani chief Asim Munir and Turkish minister Ibrahim Kalin.
Iranian President Massoud Pezeshkian said Tehran is ready to deepen cooperation and resolve disputes, asserting that Iran has legitimate rights and will defend them firmly.
The Iranian foreign ministry described the talks as a concrete step towards security cooperation, while Esmaïl Baghaï called the event important and expressed hope for broader regional collaboration.
Saudi deputy foreign minister Raed Qarmali said the meeting aims to reduce escalation and support Qatar‑Pakistan mediation, noting the Saudi foreign ministry’s view that the defence minister’s visit is part of ongoing de‑escalation efforts.
A Qatari delegation is scheduled to visit Tehran on Sunday, following the proposal made during Asim Munir’s visit and accepted by Iran.
