Amel Abdellatif, Minister of Interior Commerce and Market Regulation, chaired a coordination meeting on Monday, 26 October, to safeguard the supply of sugar and edible oil during Ramadan.

The gathering brought together officials from the ministries of Foreign Trade, Export Promotion, Industry and senior representatives of Interior Commerce to review anticipatory measures.

Participants examined steps to maintain market stability and meet consumer demand throughout the holy month, focusing on import schedules, stock levels and distribution channels.

The ministers agreed to monitor market trends closely and to act swiftly if shortages emerge, aiming to keep prices stable for households.

The coordination effort will continue throughout Ramadan, with regular updates expected from the ministries involved.
