Ministry launches digital platform to boost consumer protection
· Source: Algeria Now
Algeria's Ministry of Commerce, Interior and Market Regulation unveiled the digital platform "Tawasoul – La voix du consommateur" on Sunday, aiming to tighten consumer‑government communication and safeguard shoppers.
The new service lets users report price‑display violations, non‑compliance with regulated or capped prices and hygiene breaches, as well as shortages of widely consumed products across the country. It also provides a space where operators and citizens can request information, and offers advice and recommendations to promote a culture of consumption.
Accessible via https://tawassol.commerce.gov.dz, Tawasoul is designed to give consumers a direct channel to alert authorities to market irregularities and receive guidance. The Ministry said the platform will help enforce existing regulations and improve market transparency.
A mobile application for the platform is slated for release soon, expanding access for users on smartphones and further enhancing the government's ability to monitor and respond to consumer concerns.
