New Buses Launch in Oran to Ease Transport Pressure
· Source: Algeria Now
Five new 25‑seat buses and five 35‑seat buses have been put into service today, easing transport pressure across the wilaya. The Transport Directorate said the fleet will start operating on 27 October 2026.
The buses reinforce existing routes from Bendaoud bus station to Benadda Benaouda (Bermadia) and Romane urban station, improving frequency and capacity for commuters.
Two fresh lines now run from Romane station to the Djafar quarter and to Mohamed‑Boudiaf hospital, while two extra lines link Romane station with the Oued Djemaa and El‑Matmar communes.
The deployment follows President Tebboune’s decision to renew the public transport fleet, aiming to improve public service, raise living conditions, expand network coverage and cover deficits on some lines.
