Oran Governor Reports Progress on Major Urban Renovations

Oran governor Ibrahim Ouchène inspected renovation sites on Tuesday, 20 October, noting that interior and exterior works at site 5, rue Ahmed Benabderrezak are 70% complete and sanitation and water networks are finished.

He also observed the Monte‑Carlo buildings on rue Saïm Mohamed, where common areas, elevators, stairs, sanitation and exterior spaces have reached 60% completion.

Ouchène instructed that cleaning staff be accommodated within the same building at site 5 and stressed the need for regular monitoring to meet deadlines across all projects.

Residents have praised the ongoing renovations, while the Radieuse residential community in Maraval is slated for façade painting and balcony and stair restoration with an eight‑month deadline.

Future work includes scheduled restoration and building maintenance in the Enseignants quarter and the upcoming start of building restoration in the Glycines community, Maraval, as part of a programme to improve living conditions and preserve the historic built environment.
