Oran Police arrest 21 wanted individuals, seize drugs, weapons and cash in operation

Oran Police said 21 individuals wanted by the justice system were arrested on Thursday, 29 October 2026, as part of a large‑scale operation. The operation also detained a total of 354 people, among them 88 for drug possession, trafficking or weapons offences.

Authorities seized 303 psychotropic tablets, 143 g of processed kif, 13 white weapons and 78 500 dinars in cash. They inspected 259 vehicles, recorded 111 traffic violations and impounded 23 motorcycles for regulatory breaches.

Four of those detained are subject to judicial warrants and 17 have already been convicted. General police units checked 71 commercial premises for compliance, noting 12 further infractions.

The police highlighted the availability of the Allo chorta app and green numbers 17 and 1548 for citizens to report emergencies and protect their property.
