Police seize 13,000 pregabalin capsules in Tiaret operation

Police in Tiaret wilaya confiscated 13,000 capsules of the psychotropic drug pregabalin after a BRI operation based on reliable information. The seizure was carried out on Thursday, 29 October 2026.

Two men were arrested during the raid, one identified as the primary suspect and the other as an accomplice. Both were taken into custody by the Tiaret wilaya police.

The BRI of Tiaret wilaya located the suspect's residence, where the 13,000 capsules were found. The arrested individuals were then presented to the prosecutor of the Republic at the Sougueur tribunal.

The operation highlights ongoing efforts by law‑enforcement agencies in the wilaya to curb the distribution of psychotropic substances.
