Three individuals suspected of organising illegal sea crossings were arrested on Thursday, 22 October 2026, in Bousfer, Algiers province, authorities said.

The operation was carried out by the 4th Urban Security Unit of Bousfer, which operates under the Aïn El Turck district security command. Field intelligence had indicated that the suspects were preparing clandestine maritime routes for transporting large sums of money.

During the raid, police seized one vessel, two engines, six seals and other related equipment. The seizure was described as a blow to the smuggling network operating in the area.

The investigation is being supervised by the prosecutor of Aïn El Turck, who has opened judicial proceedings. The three suspects will be presented to the competent judicial authorities for further action.
