Tlemcen Police Dismantle Migrant Smuggling Network

24 Oct 2026 · Source: Algeria Now

The anti‑smuggling unit of the Tlemcen judicial police announced on Sunday that it had dismantled an organised sea migrant‑smuggling network, arresting four suspects including a woman.

The operation, revealed on 23 October 2026, resulted in the seizure of a half‑solid boat fitted with a 200‑hp engine, rescue buoys and other marine equipment.

Authorities also recovered €1,000 in cash and more than 600 million Algerian centimes, alongside four mobile phones used by the network members.

The suspects were presented before the public prosecutor at the Tlemcen court.
