The U.S. State Department announced it will issue visas to former Brazilian senator Flavio Bolsonaro and his family, permitting their entry into the United States.
Bolsonaro, who has been under investigation for alleged money‑laundering, allegedly left Brazil for the United States, although exact departure details and his current location have not been confirmed publicly.
A judge, Alexandre de Moraes, previously barred Bolsonaro from leaving Brazil and cancelled his passports after he failed to surrender them for the investigation. The senator denied any intention to flee.
Federal police in Brazil are probing claims of his departure, while Argentine authorities and Bolsonaro’s campaign coordinator have denied rumours that he travelled via Argentina on a private flight.
Bolsonaro’s family is already facing serious legal entanglements, and the visa decision comes amid ongoing scrutiny of the former senator’s activities.
